Velokhaya is most grateful to all those – both companies and individuals – who have supported us since our formation more than a decade ago.

A special thanks to our current sponsors:

Pick n Pay: Our anchor sponsor and our most loyal supporter – has sponsored our mass participation programme since 2004 (continuous sponsorship).

MTN Foundation: MTN SA Foundation is a corporate social investment wing of MTN SA. Since 1994, MTN SA’s various outreach programmes have provided support and upliftment for many historically disadvantaged communities. The MTN SA Foundation was formalised in 2001 and its programmes were organised behind a single unified mission: to improve the lives for poor and previously disadvantaged communities, in collaboration with civil society, government, NGOs and other relevant organisations. The aim of the MTN SA Foundation is to bring about meaningful, measurable and sustainable change that will lay the foundations for disadvantaged and rural communities to become self-reliant.

Rand Water
Rand Water: A long-time supporter of cycling, Rand Water’s partnership with the Velokhaya Life Cycling Academy will provide deserving cyclists from Soweto and Khayelitsha with a much-needed platform to develop their cycling talent, compete against the best cyclists in the country and improve their lives through the sport of cycling.

Cadence Nutrition: Cadence Nutrition was born out of our passion for cycling. We are more than just a company that produces superior nutritional products. Our company is involved at the ground level of our sport. Our products are based on the scientific principle of feeding the body with the best natural and herbal supplementation available today.

Triamic Construction: Engineering – Research Consultants

One Sight: In the midst of it all and the elements brought about from nature and making sure that our team focuses on where they are going and can see the finish line clearly, Velokhaya has partnered with OneSight Foundation for eyewear both on and off the bike. OneSight shares a lot of our principles in helping and supporting those who cannot help themselves by making something not easily accessible to the underprivileged achievable.

NYU Stern: Velokhaya celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2014 and a generous donation made the New York University Stern School of Business’s AHBBS (Association of Hispanic and Black Business Students) will be used to fund a number of Velokhaya activities aimed at raising awareness and funds for Velokhaya during our anniversary year.

Squirt Lube
Squirt Lube: With the bikes being pounded throughout every weather condition and the constant shifting of gears from training to racing, what better way to make sure that the chains are fed and lubricated with Squirt Lube to prolong the life span of chains/rings and clusters and in turn the bike.

Indigo Design: We are most grateful to Michele Edgecombe of Indigo Design for providing pro-bono graphic design services.  Michele is responsible for our business card and newsletter designs, as well as the certificates of recognition which are provided to sponsors and members. Their support began in 2008 when the company donated seven shipping containers which we ‘upcycled’ to create the clubhouse facilities at the BMX Oval.

Team CSC/Computer Sciences Corporation: In 2006 Team CSC – then the world’s number one pro-cycling team – and its sponsors CSC, Cervelo and Descente, partnered us in a fundraising campaign.

CSC, Team CSC’s principal sponsor, donated 3000 Euro for every stage win during the team’s 2007 and 2008 Tour de France campaign. The Velokhaya logo appeared on Team CSC Tour de France cycling kit and vehicles and CSC invited a delegation of Velokhaya riders and management to attend the prestigious event in France.
