Supporter, Simon Nicks, to ride Leadville 100 miler for Velokhaya.

July 29, 2015

Velokhaya supporter and avid mountain bike rider, Simon Nicks from Cape Town, has had the good fortune of being invited to participate in the 2015 Leadville MTB 100 miler - thanks to friendships made during the 2013 ABSA Cape Epic – and has decided, very kindly, to use his participation in the event to raise money for Velokhaya.

ALL funds to go towards the, much needed, purchase of mountain bikes for the new Velokhaya MTB programme.

The gruelling one day, 160km high altitude (between 3 200m and 3 800m) Leadville MTB event in the Colorado Rockies takes place on Saturday, 15th August 2015 and we all wish him well on the day.

Please show your support by pledging an amount per km that he completes (see examples below). Click here to register your support for Simon and Velokhaya.

The Leadville Race Series includes the 100 mile trail run the following weekend won three times by South African Ryan Sandes. The race series was started as a way of reviving Leadville, the highest town in the US, whose economy was dying after the closure of the local mine in the 1980s.
